​​Courtney Prevost is a passionate fashion and portrait photographer, who has a keen interest in fashion, lifestyle, product and portrait photography. She is based in the South West and is adverse to using natural and artificial light, with experience in both location and studio setups.

She is invested in the representation and identity of any models she works with, ensuring that they feel comfortable and confident by creating a personal connection, both before and during each shoot. Furthermore, she has a strong interest in the empowerment of models, particularly female, shown throughout her most recent work.

Throughout her university career, she has completed projects focused on fashion photography, exploring different themes and messages. Her work analyses the fashion industry in the past, reflecting on its standards of representation, developing old ideas, approaching them with fresh, modern eyes, and making them more appropriate for today’s social demographic. Courtney’s personal and professional life overlap frequently as she often works on projects that she genuinely believes in and represents the subjects well. She heavily focuses on the representation of any subjects, making sure that everyone involved in each project is presented in a good light; this also helps her to understand each project on a deeper level. She primarily focuses on fashion editorial work; however, works in all areas of the fashion industry. She captures both candid and posed images, reflecting brand identities while creating an experience for audiences.
She uses digital cameras, with a strong preference for Nikon, alongside being adverse to the Adobe suite. Furthermore, she has a preference for location shoots, making use of natural lighting to create an authentic image. By using high-quality equipment, the standard of her work doesn’t falter due to this preference. She works closely with models and clients to ensure that everyone is on the same page, before, during and after each shoot. Furthermore, she discusses options with models and clients separately to gauge what they are comfortable with and can make conscious choices to ensure that everyone is happy. Her work is targeted towards fashion publications and brands that are looking for high-quality visual imagery. She is drawn to natural lighting as it creates a softer effect while still keeping details immersed within each image. A recent project with strong significance is her final University project, focusing on female model representation within the fashion industry and photography.
